Mystical Majesty Band came together in late 2003 in Bergen County, New Jersey, and started playing out the following year. The idea then is the idea now: play the Beatles catalog—all of it, 1962 through 1970—and play it with no costumes. Close your eyes and you’ll swear you’re hearing the album.
MMB has won the Battle of the Beatle Bands at The Fest for Beatles Fans five times: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2011. The first of those came by way of a very long standing ovation from close to two thousand people in the Crowne Plaza ballroom. In the summer of 2007 the band opened for Pete Best, the Beatles’ original drummer, at The Cutting Room in New York City, and in 2012 for rockabilly singer Robert Gordon at the Bowery Electric.
The lineup shifted along the way. When Flash left, Ron Zito came out from behind the drum kit to take a spot up front on guitar and vocals, and Dan D’Elia took over on drums. Paul Haluska and David Citron joined in 2026. Two of the five have been here since the beginning.
Twenty-plus years in, the band still works the New York metro area, and everybody in it sings. Some rooms have become annual fixtures: MMB has headlined the Town of Orangetown’s “Rock the Park” series in Orangeburg nearly every summer since 2008. Three others have had them back ten or eleven times each — The Vic Tavern in Bayonne, the Peddler in Cresskill, and Bardi’s in Pequannock.

The Band
Ron Zito Guitar, Vocals, music director

Ron has been in the band since the start and has been its music director the whole time, though not always from the same seat: he spent the early years behind the drum kit before moving up front to guitar and vocals when the band’s original singer left.
Jim DelPizzo Bass, Vocals

Jim has held the bass chair since 2003, which is more than twice as long as the Beatles were a band. He and Ron are the two who have been here from the start.

Dan D’Elia Drums, Vocals
Dan took over the drum chair when Ron moved out front, and has held it since. He also drums for STARMAN: The Bowie Tribute, where he and David play together in a second band, and he has played in the Rick Z Band and recorded with the duo Otis and Melvin on several of their albums, including High on Cake.
David Citron Keyboards, Vocals

David has been the organist at Holy Trinity in Spring Lake since 2008, the founding keyboardist for STARMAN: The Bowie Tribute since 2014, and pianist for GeekLifeRules: NY Cosplay Cabaret. He also plays tuba in the trad jazz trio the Pork Roll Stompers. His compositions range from electronica to concert hall pieces, and when he is not immersed in music he moonlights as a software engineer. He lives in Matawan with his wife, a full-time wedding planner, and their dogs, who are full-time dogs.
